Jennifer M. Burgess meets Shaun T at the 'Beachbody Summit'

Jennifer Morgan Burgess didn’t always love to exercise. It took a trip to study abroad in college, and coming home with an extra 15-20 lbs., for her to realize that she was suffering from some minor health issues due to weight gain and from her low self esteem.

“Growing up I always hated exercise and wasn’t into sports, or dance, or anything you would consider overly physical.”

It wasn’t until six years later, that she decided to pursue a career in the fitness field, and to study for her personal training certification. More

Twin mom Lisa Paddock nominated her friend Colleen Jacks to be this months Super MoM (sponsored by MAM) Lisa and Colleen met when Lisa assisted with a photo shoot of Colleens newborn twins. ” and they became friends. “Since then, Colleen has become a wonderful friend and a great inspiration,” says Lisa. “In addition to being an incredible mom, she is also a labor and delivery nurse and super wife.” What sets her apart? Lisa continues, “Shortly after Colleens twins were born, her husband’s rare cancer returned in full force. He has had numerous surgeries, numerous hospitalizations, and long travelsacross the country for doctors appointments and treatments. This young, beautiful family is facing a very difficult and uncertain future. But Colleen is incredible. To be honest- I don’t know how she does it all. I know at times she feels like she’s drowning, but I don’t think she would ever say such a thing. She just continues to plug along, excelling at everything she does- most importantly in her roles as mother and wife. And through it all she is positive and always holds out hope. I would love for you to honor her during this difficult time. I know she could use an extra smile and super hug from all the twin mamas out there!!!” More

Grace nominated her friend Stephanie, mother of six, to be this months Super MoM of the month. Here is what she had to say about her:

She is the mother of twin girls She also has four other children all under 11 years old. Her ability in being a mom amazes me. She is patient, loving and dedicated. She home schools her kids, is very involved in her Christian community and keeps her kids active in Karate or whatever their goals are. I think what makes a great mom is seeing her kids reach their goals no matter what it may be. Stephanie continues to do this day after day. Her twins light up with joy as soon as she looks at them… her love and dedication are seen in their eyes! I admire her and love her greatly.”

Six kids ages eleven to 18 months? Homeschools them? Incredible! She talked to us about what’s it like and gave us some tips that she has learned along the way. More

This month we have selected

Phoebe Kannisto

to be our Super Mother of Multiples!

Phoebe and her husband Eric have been blessed with six amazing little boys. First a singleton, Andre who is now 6 years old. Then identical twins, Silas & Emerson who are 4 years old. And lastly, fraternal triplets! Holden, Reed, and Dexter are 15 months old!

Phoebe is a stay at home mom, while her husband works in cancer research. She says “We do everything on our own. We’ve never had any help, and we don’t have any family in state. We pride ourselves on doing it all by ourselves. Growing up I had one older brother and Eric was an only child. I always pictured myself with a large family, but never imagined I’d be a mother of six little boys, including multiple multiples. We are very lucky.” Phoebe took some time to answer some of our questions about being a MoM to 6 small children. More

Super MoM :: May 2013 :: Tracy Regusci

This month we have chosen Tracy Regusci to be out Super MoM of the month. Why? First of all she is mom who has such a big heart to take on big challenges for the love of family and children. She is mother to six children- 3 biological and 3 adopted. Her husband Matthew tells us what makes her such a great mom!

“I met my wife, Tracy, in high school 14 years ago and I knew then she would be a super mom. I knew she wanted a big family and specialized as a nanny for multiples in high school and college. She would always joke that she wanted 5 kids (at least I thought at the time it was a joke) and wanted to stay home with them. I recently told Tracy she was a liar because we have 6 kids, not 5.  Now she tells me, “I did not lie honey, I want 5 biological kids.” So, it looks like we are not done. 🙂 More

The April 2013 Super MoM is

Michelle Perry

Her friend Karen sent in the following nomination to tell us why this mother of teenage triplets ROCKS!

What makes her Super?

Michelle is the mother to TRIPLET TEENAGERS. She has raised her fourteen-year-olds to be respectful, confident (despite physical limitations) and kind. My teens arrived at the age one at a time, and that was difficult enough.

How is she an extraordinary advocate for her children? More

Our Super Mother of Multiples is REALLY Super! She is mother to 10, yes TEN kids, including 3 sets of twins! Get to know her and find out why we chose her to be this months Twiniversity Super MoM and send her to a Spa for her to pamper herself a bit.

Her husband Allen wrote to us and said: “I feel that my wife is the ultimate super mom. My wife and I have been married for 9 years. We have 10 children, 3 sets of twins!!! Most people I know would pull their hair out and just go completely insane, but my wife is always very calm. She amazes me how independent she is. Having 10 kids does not stop her from doing anything that she has to do. Even putting up with the general public is a chore. Our family would not be complete without her. She is also caring and helpful towards other moms. She is very experienced obviously by now. She has worked inside and outside of the home and still never misses a beat. Never misses picture. She continues to amaze me on a daily basis.” More

Super MoM :: February 2013 :: Amy Thompson

Sean: “My wife, Amy, is indeed a Supermom, or Super M.o.M., as the case may be. It is not a role she has always seen for herself, but one she has taken to naturally. We are a full-time working family, meaning that both Amy and myself work five days a week outside of the home, actually commuting 60+ miles one way to our respective work locations. This in and of itself presents its own challenges, but Amy does this each and every day while also raising a 4 year old boy and 2 year old boy/girl twins. Sacrifice… and then some.

Being the only mother of multiples amongst her friends has made her the default “go-to” for advice from soon-to-be/new moms in her circle, especially given how DIY and food aware she became after our oldest boy arrived. From making her own baby food and baby wipes to studying labels and going organic, Amy strives to provide the best for our kids, which doesn’t necessarily include buying name brands or “the best” as others define that term.
