Britax convertible car seat voluntary recall due to choking hazzard

Charlotte, N.C., November 6, 2012 In accordance with the requirements of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), BRITAX Child Safety, Inc. announced today that it is conducting a voluntary safety recall on the of the models listed below.

MODELS: all BRITAX Boulevard 70-G3, Pavilion 70-G3, and Advocate 70-G3 Convertible Car Seats manufactured between June 1, 2012 and August 31, 2012 for Model Numbers:  E9LJ91A, E9LJ91M, E9LJ91S, E9LJ92E, E9LJ93P, E9LJ93S, E9LK91A, E9LK31A, E9LK31Q, E9LK32D, E9LK32Z, E9LK33Q, E9LL11A, E9LL11Q, E9LL12D, E9LL12Z, E9LG81A, E9LG83N, E9LG83P, E9LG83X, E9LG83Y, E9LL21A, E9LL23P, E9LL23Y

HAZZARD: Chest Pads are affixed to the seat shell to ensure proper positioning and provide resistance to the forward movement of your child in a crash, reducing the risk of head injury. The above models were manufactured with this enhanced harness system that incorporated a softer more pliable, non-toxic HUGS pad intended to provide increased performance and comfort. BRITAX has received reports that some children chew or bite on the pads and have bitten off small pieces of the pads which could present a choking hazard, especially in infants. More
