Spring Cleaning: Bathroom

Usually the bathroom is the smallest room of the house but the most loathed to clean. I always hated to clean my bathroom because of the strong smells of harsh chemicals I thought I had to use. Although there are times that chemicals such as bleach are needed (like in the instance of mold or bacteria problems) there are other options that will not leave you gasping for a breath of fresh air during your typical bathroom cleaning. This will especially help if you are currently pregnant. Here is what you need:

1. Broom
2. Mop
3. Floor cleaner
4. Toilet brush
5. Glass/mirror cleaner
6. White distilled vinegar
7. Baking soda
8. Bleach (possibly)
9. Rags/brushes/sponges

(Note: White distilled vinegar works as a “green” disinfectant killing many germs, bacteria and mold and you don’t have to wear gloves while using it! Do not use on granite since it will etch the surface thus ruining it!)

Ants Are Invading! What Do You Do?

When we found out our life was being “invaded” by twins we bought a house. Little did we know that we would have another invasion- ANTS! Every spring they reappear in my kitchen in search for something sweet. As parents we have enough to worry about without the added stress of finding an army of ants in the kitchen every morning! So Recently I turned to our Twiniversity friends for some tips to help me with my ant problem and you did not let me down. I asked “What do you do to keep ants out of your kitchen? The Lost Art of Letter Writing

You get the mail every day. It’s just part of your routine. You sort through junk mail and bills, but then something catches your eye! An envelope with handwriting on it! It’s a letter from a friend or family and you can’t wait to open it!- One of the simplest joys in life is receiving a personal letter in the mail. They are a rare treasure in this day and age. This form of communication has been replaced by the telephone, e-mail, texting and social networking. While these new forms of communications have allowed people to stay in touch better, their still isn’t anything like the excitement of getting a letter in the mail. There is something more personal and warmer about words written.
