“My name is Michelle and I have been so very blessed to spend my first year of motherhood on the Caribbean island of Dominica.  My twin sons, Andrew and Matthew, were born 7 weeks premature in Washington DC in February 2011.  Because of the high-risk nature of the pregnancy and my 10 week inpatient hospital stay prior to their delivery, I avoided planning for their arrival.  No Baby Shower.  No late night on-line shopping.  No nursery planning.

Three weeks after their joyful homecoming, my husband received an unexpected employment offer that would require us to move to Dominica with a mere three week’s notice.  Knowing that I didn’t want to go back to work, I was quick to agree that we should accept the one year contract which would allow me to be a stay at home mom to my identical twin sons. More
