Happy Holidays from Yitzy and Chana!
Here is what Yitzy & Chana Gitty’s Mom had to say about her twinnies and the holidays:
(boy and girl. Yitzy’s real name is Shimon Yitzchak, named after my grandfather)
What was your most memorable moment from the day your multiples were born?: Holding my twins for the first time was unbelievable. I am unable to explain just how awesome it was. From pushing them in their stroller t he first time to taking th em for pictures the first time – there have been lots of memorable ‘firsts’ 🙂
How do you plan on celebrating the holidays with your family this year? We are jewish and celebrate Chanukah. I am so looking forward to what is my favorite holiday of the year. This year the kids are finally old enough to understand what it is all about. We will light the Menorah each night and the kids will have their own little one too. We will eat all the traditional foods like Latkes and Donuts and play the Dreidal and sing songs and attend Chanuka Parties & get presents. This is the first year they will finally understand it and enjoy being a part of it! When they were little they had severe feeding trouble so even though chanukah donuts and latkes are yummy they wouldn’t partake – its food. LOL. But this year things are so much better and even with a 4 month old baby boy I think this is going to be a GREAT holiday!
Does your family have any holiday traditions you can share with us? Our entire family gets together for Chanukah Parties. The immediate family (parents and my siblings) make one. We all get together enjoy dinner together and then give out gifts for the kids and play some games. There is also the GIANT extended family get-together where there are about 200+ of us with music and clowns and food and all of that. We are a very close knit family but this is a great time to meet everyone again and get to see the new arrivals (the new babies and new couples). Since Chanukah is a week long we get to celebrate all week.
What was YOUR favorite gift you received for the holidays as a child? I honestly don’t remember. I know I got a watch once that I enjoyed and a doll carriage another time. but funny enough it was the little plastic dreidal stuffed with candy that I remember most fondly. The 25 cent toy kept me happy a very very long time!

Every year at Twiniversity we use the month of December to highlight some of our amazing families. Some folks have the 12 Days of Christmas, but with twins, shouldn’t we have 24 days? So from Dec 1st through December 24th we will feature an amazing family and tell you a bit about them.
Every family selected will receive a small token gift from us as a little Thank You for letting us honor them. This year we are also very lucky to have partnered with Step2 and will be able to make some amazing recommendations for holiday gifts for your own multiples. If you would like your family featured, please check out the full details. Entries are still being accepted.
