Happy Holidays from Audrey, Abigail and their mom Cindy!

Every year at Twiniversity we use the month of December to highlight some of our amazing families. Some folks have the 12 Days of Christmas, but with twins, shouldn’t we have 24 days? So from Dec 1st through December 24th we will feature an amazing family and tell you a bit about them.

Every family selected will receive a small token gift from us as a little Thank You for letting us honor them. This year we are also very lucky to have partnered with Step2 and will be able to make some amazing recommendations for holiday gifts for your own multiples. If you would like your family featured, please check out the full details. Entries are still being accepted.

Here is what Cindy had to say about the holidays and her twinnies:

How old are they? They are 2 years old, almost 3!

What was your most memorable moment from the day your multiples were born?: I remember being in a pure bliss the first day, then after keeping them in the room with us during the night, the next day was brutal. I remember the nurses being worried that I had post pardon depression. I was just so tired!

How do you plan on celebrating the holidays with your family this year?-We are having so much fun this holiday season. Everything this year has been so much more exciting due to them understanding more. They are singing Christmas songs, and I can’t wait to teach them about Chanukah and Kwanza. The more the merrier!

Does your family have any holiday traditions you can share with us?-I do not have any with my children but I think that as noted above, I will be celebrating multiple holidays with them. It is so important to me to teach them about different cultures and religions and to accept everybody.

What was YOUR favorite gift you received for the holidays as a child?-We did not have much as a child but I remember getting a special teddy bear on year. Her name was Arlien and I could not be without her. I remember sitting next to the washer so I could stay by her side as she got cleaned.

Finish this sentence: The best part of being a parent of multiples is: Your kids always have a friend to play with.

Here is what Kristen had to say about the holidays and her twinnies:

How old are they? 2 years (I can hardly believe it!!)

What was your most memorable moment from the day your multiples were born? The surprisingly loud cries that came from such tiny little babies! I delivered at 24 weeks gestation, and the kids weighed only 1lb 9oz each. Of course their lungs were extremely premature and they’d need to spend months in the NICU, but they still came out screaming! It’s almost like they were saying “We’ll be ok, Mama!! We may be small, but we’re fighters!”

How do you plan on celebrating the holidays with your family this year? We’ll be spending quality time with our extended family and friends here in Michigan – having lots of great meals together – and I’ll be taking hundreds of pictures! This is the first year that the twins will actually understand what’s going on, so we hope to make some extra special memories for them! Everything will be bigger, brighter, and more colorful than usual!

Does your family have any holiday traditions you can share with us? On Christmas Eve, the cousins help bake and decorate a gingerbread house for Santa’s elves… We call it their “vacation home”. After Santa makes his midnight flight, the elves move in for a little R&R – right in Grandma & Grandpa’s living room! The kids are amazed to wake up on Christmas morning and see lights on inside the gingerbread mansion, and tiny footprints and pixie dust left outside!

What was YOUR favorite gift you received for the holidays as a child? When I was 4, my sister and I got a huge box filled with craft supplies. Most things were common household items that people had saved for us – empty baby food jars, paper towel rolls, plastic lids and containers, paper bags, etc… As well as plenty of glue, markers, pipe cleaners, and other things to decorate our creations. It was probably the least expensive gift we got, but it kept us entertained for hours at a time!

Finish this sentence: The best part of being a parent of multiples is: my lap is never cold! There’s always someone waiting to cuddle with mommy! I know this stage wont last long, and I’m so blessed to able to share this time with them!
