Ask Twiniversity: Military Families cope with Daddy/Mommy being gone.

We received this question today, and put it right at the top of our list! Can you help this mom out by giving her some tips and advice on how to deal with her twins during her husband’s deployed.

“I am an active duty Navy oral surgeon and have 2 year old boy/girl twins. My husband is an active duty lawyer and currently on an aircraft carrier (ship.)  He was deployed for 7 months, returned in June and is deploying again in November. Now that the twins are older, they seem to be struggling more with daddy being gone.  So my question is geared for military families or families that have to live apart.  “How do you help your twins through the deployment or time away from daddy. Thanks!”

How has your family coped with a situation like this?

When I mentioned to people that I was going to cloth diaper my twins, many told me I was crazy.  In all honesty its one of the easiest parts about having twins. The choice to use cloth was environmental more than anything else, but cloth can save you lots of money too.

There are countless types, styles, fabrics, sizes, brands, etc. So many choices it can be overwhelming. CD=Cloth Diapering. OS=one size. AIO= All in One. AI2= All in Two. PUL=polyurethane laminated fabric, (protective covers.) Fitted diapers Prefolds, (the good old fashioned type.) Pocket diapers. What kind of fabric to use: cotton, microfiber, hemp, and the list goes on. More
